Activities
The MOMS Club® of Tega Cay strives to offer a support system for stay-at-home moms (and the few dads that have joined our group) by providing a variety of activities for its members. Most of our activities are during the day and all moms and children are welcomed to any of our activities.
Each month we put together a calendar of activities that is available to all of our members. These activities include:
Playgroups
Playgroups are a terrific way for children to get to know others their same age and also provide a way for moms to socialize. Most of our playgroups are organized by age and the members of each playgroup determine the schedule. Any member can start a playgroup and we have new ones popping up all of the time.
New Member Playgroup
Each month, we offer a new member playgroup as a chance for our new members to get connected with our current members and learn how to get more involved in our club.
Hosted Activities
These are fun activities that our members can put onto our monthly calendar. These events are open to all members and have included strawberry and peach picking, trips to the zoo, park and lake play, library reading hours, picnics, crafting and much more.
Moms Night Out (MNO)
This activity is all about the mom (or dad, in the case of our newest members). We’ve done everything from making pottery, dinner at local restaurants, dancing to going to the movies.
Secret Sister
Once a year we have our secret sister program. Members that are interested, fill out a questionnaire with favorites, likes and dislikes, and interests and are matched up with another member. It’s a fun program and each month you do or give something nice to your secret sister. At the end of the program everyone goes to dinner and the secret sisters are revealed.
Annual Member Event
This event is open to our members and their families. Past member events have been a potluck holiday party and Halloween Festival.
Sunshine Committee
Through this committee, our members provide home-cooked meals for other member moms that have had a newborn, illness or are going through a challenging time and may need a little extra support.
Newsletter
We have a monthly newsletter that goes out to all members. It contains a wealth of information about local activities and fun facts for moms and children. We also recognize member birthdays, anniversaries and children’s birthdays in our newsletter.
